OAKLAND (KRON)—The U.S. Green Council will recognize Highland Hospital in Oakland on Tuesday for its $668 million dollar eco-friendly renovations, according to Alameda County officials.

The two new facilities will receive a national gold certificate from the council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building program.

PG&E officials plans to give Alameda County nearly $750,000 as incentive to pay for more energy-saving measures.

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors will celebrate this achievement Tuesday morning.

A green building council representative will officially notify Alameda County and the Alameda Health System about the award.
